The SIHH 2019 edition just finished yesterday. During 14th to 17th of January 2019, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, held in Genève, was a magnificent setting that became a place to meet, to exchange points of view and make new discoveries with the spotlighting of the latest creations in watchmaking and swiss watches production.
With 35 ultra-luxurious exhibitors, including luxury brands like Cartier, Vacheron Constantin, and Hermès, this event offered some of the most technically advanced and expensive timepieces with exclusive design in the world. Today, Luxury Safes presents you the most important highlights from SIHH 2019. Take a look!
Cartier, one of the presented luxury brands, showed an impossibly stunning version of its timeless Panthère. The Cartier’s Panthère Watch is a symbol of a feline embodiment of free and assertive, elegant and sensual femininity. All yellow gold and diamonds, this luxury watch reinterprets a jewelry theme.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Night & Day Jewelry watch born from the spirit of fine watchmaking and the beauty of high jewelry. As a true fine craftsmanship symbol, this timepiece is curated in white or pink gold with alligator leather straps and shows a majestic richness of detail with marvelous elements.
This Piaget Extremely Lady luxury watch combines tradition and innovation with a unique creative approach and a contemporary design. With gold-worked textures inspired by nature, the ripple of light and shadow on the scales of an exotic creature is replicated on the new Extremely Lady timepiece.
The new Dual Time Resonance Sapphire by Armin Strom is a dual-movement timepiece with an exclusive design that is only the third in history to harness the properties of resonance.
Hermès introduced its fourth high complication in this event, showing the Arceau l’Heure de la Lune, a timepiece that features two mother-of-pearl moons. The moons are static, while the time and date displays revolve around the dial.
At the same time, the tonneau shape is creeping back into men’s luxury watches after several years of absence. At this SIHH 2019, the tonneau became a design trend and is, however, considered supremely elegant, and especially so in Cartier’s new Tonneau XL Skeleton Dual Time.
Enamel dials have increased in popularity over the last few years, and at SIHH 2019 this trend was continued stronger than ever. One of the new luxury watches introduced at SIHH 2019, the Bovet’s convertible Virtuoso IX, features one of the most beautiful, traditional and difficult-to-produce forms of enamel: the flinqué. In this design new trend case, the dial is first engraved using the traditional guilloche technique and then covered with enamel.
Over its twenty-eight years, SIHH has made its mark elevating a luxury lifestyle and being a reference among international fine watch shows by building on a unique concept.
