Tissot is one of the most well respected watch brands in the industry. With rich heritage they introduced the first mass produced pocket watch and are now part of Swatch Group Ltd. Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek has announced that Tissot will reveal their smartwatch at Baselworld watch event which begins on the 17th of March. Baselworld is a watch and jewellery show based in Switzerland so it is the perfect place for the big release. The watch event attracts over 94,000 visitors and 2,100 exhibitors from all over the world.

Right now Luxury Safes knows very little about the Tissot smartwatch. What we do know is that Hayek has had a conflict of interest with the market on what exactly a smartwatch should be. He said last year that ‘The Apple Watch is an interesting toy, but not a revolution.’ Going further to say that ‘We are not going to transform and put the mobile phone on the wrist’.
